Learn Why Air Purifier Reviews Are So Important

By Anita Raymond

It's really hard trying to write an air purifier review as every person needs a purifier for different needs. A person who suffers from an allergy might find one unit perfect whilst another person with asthma will find that this same machine does not work for them.

The task of an air purifier is to remove pollutants from the air so that they don't cause discomfort or lead to an allergic reaction. A hay fever sufferer will use an air purifier to clean the air of pollen so as to reduce the risk of an allergic reaction. Another person with a dust allergy will try to use a purifier to remove dust mite allergens from the air. Certain purifiers are good at removing one type of pollutant more than other types.

Taking into account the needs of different people I will try and test each air purifier in many situations and give it a mark based on the efficiency for each task.

You will generally need to use a laboratory to successful compare the efficiency of an air purifier in removing different allergens.

There is now a vast array of technology that purifiers utilise such as HEPA filers, UV and Ionizers. If you don't understand how these types of technologies work then it can be hard to decide which is best for your problem.

HEPA was designed by the navy as is often used to clean the air on Submarines. HEPA purifiers work by using a very small holed polymer/paper that blocks particulates before they can cause any problems. HEPA is great at cleaning air but its downside is the cost of replacement filters. We have known some filters to cost more in a year than the cost of the air purifier. When reading a review be sure to check the price of filters and how often they need replacing.
